4. Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

A. Educational Qualification
- Assistant Section Officer (ASO) / Grade-II: You must hold a basic Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce) from a recognized university. Basic computer proficiency is required for some departments.
- Junior Engineer (JE Civil): You must have a Degree in Civil Engineering OR a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with 2 years of work experience.
- Assistant Engineer (AE Civil): You need a complete Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. No prior experience is required for the Delhi Jal Board.
- Legal Assistant: You must have a Degree in Law (LLB). Additionally, you will need 1 to 3 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner or working in the legal department of a government body (requirements vary slightly depending on the specific department).
B. Age Limit (As of 25 March 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 to 21 Years (Depending on the post).
- ASO & Legal Assistant: Maximum age up to 30 years (35 years for specific departments).
- AE / JE Civil: Maximum age up to 30 years (32 years for NDMC/DAMB).
(Age relaxation is provided to SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates as per Delhi Government rules. OBC relaxation is mostly applicable only for Delhi-certified OBC candidates.)

6. Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process varies slightly based on the post you are applying for.
- One-Tier Technical Exam: For the posts of Assistant Engineer (AE) and Junior Engineer (JE), there will be a single objective-type written exam of 3 hours. The final merit list will be made based on these marks.
- Two-Tier Exam: For the posts of ASO and Legal Assistant, there will be a Tier-1 (Qualifying) and Tier-2 (Main) written exam.
- Document Verification: Checking original mark sheets and certificates.
- Medical Test: Basic fitness check.

Selected candidates will receive a handsome salary under the 7th Pay Commission along with standard government allowances (DA, HRA, TA).
